How many cigarette/12v sockets?

I feel somewhat silly asking this, but here it goes. According to the fuse chart, it would seem that there are three 12v socket fuses in my 2021 X1. However, I only know of two 12v sockets in the vehicle, the one up front by the cupholders, and the one in the trunk area. Is that 3rd fuse something else, or is there some secret 3rd socket I am unaware of?

Ok wait, I thought I was kidding about a secret third socket, but did some googling and supposedly there is one in the front passenger footwell area

Grabbing my flashlight to investigate ...

Mine has 4 total sockets - 1. cupholder area, 2. under rear vent behind center console, 3. passenger side trunk storage cubby, and 4. under passenger footwell area. #4 is under the glove box under area by the center area.

I have my plug and play dash cam plugged into this one. Very convenient.

Many F48 will not have the passenger footwell socket. I am not sure if it was deleted at some stage, was restricted to certain markets or was part of an option pack but my car only had 3 sockets (cup holders, rear of armrest for rear seat passenger and trunk/boot).
On my new X3, there are only two power sockets, cup holder and trunk although there are extra usb outlets. I think I will have to hardwire dashcam.

Mine seems to have it, but when I plugged in an adapter, I didn't see it light up as expected. Perhaps I didn't push it in far enough. The piece of plastic the socket is part of seems quite flimsy, and I was hesitant to push it harder. Are there models where the socket is there, but not connected up? Or if it is there, it should likely work?

Guess it depends on the car? My '18 F33 430i had three. one by cupholders, one under glovebox and one in trunk. and one usb port.

my '19 F39 X2 has three. same locations as above and it has one usb-a port and three usb-c ports.

My pre-LCI F48 has the extra footwell power outlet. It was buried in one of the option packages, I think it was the one that included the LED headlights or ambient lighting - option code S575A Supplementary 12V Sockets:

I tried it again, and indeed the footwell 12v socket works! What a neat little extra. No idea why it is there, but I’ll take it!

Here's part of a schematic for the circuit:

Interesting, my car had s575A , I looked but obviously didn’t look hard enough for the footwell power outlet.

I also have my Dashcam plugged into the footwell power outlet, however it does power down approximately 5-10 minutes after shutting off the vehicle.

Do all the 12v sockets shut down after a period of time when shutting off the engine?

Good to know. On my previous E46 the 12v socket did not, and that was problematic. Glad they do on the X1.
