FRM recall
So, I ran into this issue recently. I learned there was an extended warranty that mine was expired on 1/12/2020. What I didn't know is how easy this PROM corruption could happen and when would it happen again. I was lucky the car is in my garage, not some stranded location.
I'm not happy that this is not a recall. The FRM failure essentially makes the car unsafe to drive. I filed a complaint with NHTSA. I think if there are enough people file complaints, someone will care enough to work on it. |

The one on our Mini went bad, letting water in.

I’m managed to get bmwNA to provide the part. The local dealership wants $500 for labor to replace and reprogram. This is a bit more than I anticipated. The mobile mechanic guy I used resetting the last time took less than an hour to flush and recode. I paid him an hour of time, which is $150. Comments?
