I bought a 2006 M54 3.0L 6spd Msport that was totaled due to a slight hit in the front. I figured since I'd be cutting up the front end, it was a perfect candidate for this experiment.

I was trying to make the plow frame so that it would universally mount to any x3. However, after some contemplation I figured they best way to accomplish a stronger mount was to weld in a couple 1/4" plates to the front subframe:

The plow frame is pretty much even with the bottom of the front subframe and in front of the lower portion of the radiator:

Some grade 9 bolts attach the angle iron to the subframe and the new welder is making me look pretty good if I do say so myself. (I'm not a very good welder)
