Dynavin N7 install- no sound? (L7 content)

Hey all, trying to poll the forum to see where I may have gone wrong with this install.

The short and sweet of it:
1. Typical uninstallation of BMW Professional radio and climate controls, disconnected fiber optic cables from OEM harness
2. Direct wired and fused Dynavin harness to the battery
3. Plugged in to N7, everything powers up and looks fine.
4. Splice in all the wires from the MOST adapter to the new Dynavin adapter, plug in the OEM fiber cable to the MOST adapter. Everything should work, right?

I power on, expect to hear sound from tuner, navi, iPod, etc and there's nothing. Sound dial indicator on N7 screen looks normal as I try to turn sound up or down.

Power off the car, and I always hear a noticeable *pop* several moments after removing the key. The L7 amp is fine from what I can tell, because everything works as normal when the OEM unit is reinstalled.

Both units were purchased secondhand off members of this forum. I'm doubtful anything is off as far as the N7 goes. As for the MOST adapter, I am unsure if it is for an N6 or an N7. It appears the sticker on top was removed, and both N6 and N7 adapters look exactly the same from the outside...

So: given the symptoms, do I:
1. Have bad wiring, go back and try to clean things up?
2. Have a MOST adapter for an N6 that is incompatible with my N7 unit?

Any help/ input appreciated. I've dug pretty deep into the forums and have not come up with anything particularly definitive.

Does the adapter require power?
some do.
Is the amp powering up?
Have you read the LED's on the amp?
