What is an Oil Stand?

I was told that an 2010 E90 that I'm thinking of buying needs the oil stand replaced...what is an oil stand? is it the stand for the oil filter housing?

Unless this is some Canadian expression that means nothing to the rest of the world, I haven't a clue! Never heard the expression before. Could it be an acronym for a dip stick..? Just guessing...
