Power at the wheels on Mapped 335d's and 335i's

Hi All

A newbie here, been reading this forum for a good few months, some really goof info on here.

I am really trying to find out the actual wheel horse power figures on mapped 335d's / 335i's Auto & Manual and Manual 330d's

Plenty of engine power figures out there but very little wheel horse power figures.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

My mapped 335d made 285bhp at the wheels in april.

I think back in december tony's stock 335i made 266bhp at the wheels. Mine stock made 257bhp at the wheels. (diesel) There was 12bhp between them at the flywheel so less at the wheels.

Would be interesting would be to say what Trixman's car made at the wheels. I know its 385bhp at the flywheel so im guestimating its approx 315-320bhp at the wheels.

Hi dxb335d,

In April what was your engine BHP to make 285 BHP at the wheels ? What Dyno was that on ?

Do you think transmission and drietrain losses on the Auto's are around 18%

It was a dyno dynamics, it equated to 345bhp which is approx 22% losses for the auto. The manual i rekon would be approx 18% losses.

Typical remap is anywhere between 255 and 275 hp at the wheels, dependant upon type of dynomometer used and the method used then this figure can vary, this will also cause the flywheel figure to vary.

Both you and Carlos are about right with losses from the auto box, anywhere between 18-22%.

Best bet if you are thinking of having a remap is to stick to just one RR and do before and after runs without taking the car from the rollers, this should give you an accurate figure of your gains, although it may not give you an accurate power and torque figure.

I have seen graphs for 335d's with over 300 hp at the wheels, it can be done.

If you would not mind, a 60-100 or 120 MPH video would be perfect.

I tend to think 60-100 gives you a better indication of on road performance than the traditional 0-60 or 0-100.

345 hp to the wheels seems to be pretty common on the 335i with JB3 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=jb3+dyno

My car made 237bhp standard at the wheels then 291.4bhp after the Evolve remap, both readings were done on the same rollers without the car being removed.

My flywheel figures were 288.1bhp and 350.7bhp - hope this helps.

Bigamos, they have used the wrong calculation mate. By shit loads.

Yours is pushing 350bhp easy. Nice one.
Was it a Dyno Dynamics R/R?
