Some you probably know that my brother, E92Fan, is playing at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe 2008 at the Empire Casino, London.
I've been monitoring the WSOP site all day and can tell you that he's made it through the 1st round with a 44K chip stack. The 1st round was split across 2 days, with 363 players in total. Only half of those remain for Day 2 that starts tomorrow at 1pm BST. Currently waiting for the official chip count to be posted on the WSOP site, but last time I looked, out of the 204 players that started today, he finished the day in approx 35th position. Earlier in the day, he was as high as 5th. Didn't know he had it in him..... Here's a pic of his chip stack at 01:45 BST - At the end of Day 3 (Tuesday), there should be around 27 players left in the tournament. Here's the web link if anyone is interested in following it: http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/to...=5895&grid=459

Finally home after a marathon 13 hour day, 10 hours of which was mega-intense, high-concentration poker... knackered now!! Finished with a chip stack of 44,000 which should put me around 27th for the day... don't know how that will translate across the entire field, but I have enough chips to make some decent play tomorrow... Prize pool is £3.63million, with a first prize just shy of £1million
Had some world-class players on my table... Surinder Sunar, Keith Hawkins etc.. Jesus Ferguson and Doyle Brunson were playing on the table next to me, and that looked mega! Need to sleep - play resumes 1pm tomorrow... my brother needs some rest too as he's been up all day scanning the WSOP site... oh, and welcome to the forum officially, Timbo If you want to see how I'm doing - WSOP Updates

E92Fan is Tony, and I am Tim
WSOPE Updated. There are 190 players left out of 363 and Tony is 40th on the leaderboard going into Day 2. If he gets to the last 27 at the end of Day 3, I'll have to go back to the UK and suddenly make myself his "banker" --- Tee hee...

Day 2 Update 14:15 -
Tony now has 70k in chips. On his table are: Thomas Dwan, Per Hildebrand, Scott Montgommery, Dario Alioto, Jean Thorel, Brian Townsend and others. Dwan was just ousted by Montgommery - an all-in and called.

Hi Carl
Nah...those are tournament chips - he can't cash out. Instead, he has to get as many tournament chips to make it to the final 27. From there on, there's real money paid out according to your finishing place on the leaderboard. 1st place is just under a million quids....

Tony has made it through the first session (five sessions each day, 2 hours each). He's on about 65k in chips. Next session: ante is 75, blinds are 300/600. WSOP Chip Count page updates are really slow 'cos the tables are spread out all over the place and they only have a few spotters going round. Would have thought they would be more computerised than they are.....
