Heated wheel retrim

My wheel isn't in very good condition. Have tried cleaning a few times with not much success. Still shiny and the leather looks crap.

Royals get mentioned a lot but a fair way to go, and wasn't sure if you could retrim a heated wheel anyway? I'm guessing adding another layer of leather would impact the heating?

Anyone had this done?

Ta

I dont think they can wrap it unless they know how to replace the heated part as well. I am in the middle of getting mine done and they company said they can only wrap over it so the heated part will still work. I am currently using a wrapped heated wheel and it does affect the heating a little bit but for me it still works just fine.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm going to contact Royals, who seem to get good reviews, just to see if possible and find out how they go about it.

Let me know what they say.

I like the wrap over wheel. Its a little thicker and it still heats up enough to warm my hands.

I will post pics once I get mine back. Its just a sport wheel not an M sport wheel.

I've just had a re trimmed heated wheel from royal steering wheels. It doesn't look any thicker than my old wheel.

Royal also provide a loan steering wheel service which is a work around. They send out the loan so you can stay mobile. You could have it replaced with the loan one by a garage if you don't want to take it on yourself.

It's not even a big job to remove. Jack (Royal) could probably even provide a guide or talk you through it.
