Oil Circulation Diagram/Engine Sludge Clean Up

Ok so I bought a 2008 328i with N52k engine. While changing the OFH gasket I decided to change the valve cover gasket, it was only leaking a tiny bit but figured it wouldn't hurt. Got the plastic cover off and found engine sludge from hell!! It looks terrible, but the stuff isn't baked on there, it pretty much slides on off....sooo I'm going to CAREFULLY clean what I can, while the cover is off and then do a Seafoam or something similar after reassembly.I'm going to make some kind of dam/cover to keep any from going anywhere but out of the engine. I'm trying to find a diagram of the oil circulation path to identify where the ports are or any other areas of importance to be sure they aren't clogged. If I go slow and clean and vacuum thoroughly I'm confident I can get a good portion of the thicker stuff off then let the seafoam do it's thing, just want to make sure ports are clear so the oil will circulate.
I already know how bad the pics look, I already know the cause of the sludge, already have new valve cover and CCV hoses. Just doing a preliminary de-sludging

Do you have any maintenance history of the car?

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

I do. There hasn't been any maintenance!

For oil flow, see page 52 in this document:
