Misfire
Hello i just bought my first car, a e92 328xi 2007 and it worked fine until the next day when i turned it on the rpms would go up to 1000 and go down to 700 and then it would just go crazy in that 1500-300 range and would just turn off but i could keep it alive if i pressed on the accelerator a little but i dont want to do that all the time and maybe over time its bad for the engine and i figured it was a misfire and im gonna check the spark plugs today and i was thinking about buying all new ignition coils but this is why i came here for to ask if any bmw ignition coils fit my car? I searched my car year and model ignition coils and they popped up but im just wondering if it matters or not? Thank you

in 2007 your car came with Bosch coils, and nowadays I have seen Delphi and even newer Eldor brand used as OEM by BMW.
just an FYI, get your vehicle scanned for codes, before you decide to change parts. at least it will tell you which cylinder(s) are miss firing or another problem. If you are happy doing DIY, then I recommend getting bmw scan tool. It will save you a lot of time and money. |
