Interior advice

I am looking to change my interior from silver to gloss black, has anyone attempted to use a spray can to paint the trim instead of wrapping?

IIRC that M sport interior is made of aluminium and with the texture, might be a pain to get a consistent and smooth finish.

Personally, I'd look on eBay for someone selling a high gloss black or piano black interior full trim set.

No experience of wrapping myself, so can't give an opinion on that front.

Thanks for that, all I seem to find is carbon fibre finished trim and CF isn't to my personal taste
No experience of wrapping either that's why I'm not keen for my first time to be on my interior

I would think the paint option is likely to scratch easily and be non -reversible if the finish isn't up to scratch (you mention not having done a wrap, but how much spraying practice have you got?)

In comparison wrapping is possible to take off and get back to square one. Lots of non carbon stuff out there and won't easily scratch.

You can't wrap the hex stuff anyway, spraying the door trim would be a piece of cake, and it you let it cure properly will be pretty durable. Spraying the dash trim will be much more difficult with the 2 different colours, unless you want it all black.

Wrapping is not that difficult and you can just take it off if you screw it up or change your mind. Not that easy with paint.

Personally, i'd opt for the wrap option! Painted is a 'one-way' deal!

id buy as cheap a second set as possible and wrap it (therefore you aren't bothered by the condition of it) - wouldn't paint the existing, would trash the value of it.

Oh and route the dash cam cable under the roof lining near the rearview, down the windscreen cover and inside the passenger door seal (buy a longer one if it isn't long enough) - sorry that's my OCD kicking in on that photo

Dashcam is a new addition, haven't got round to getting the longer cable. Don't worry it's on the list

Thanks for the help, maybe work on that list and come back to the interior trim haha

Advice has been great and I have followed it, dashcam is routed behind the trim and interior has been wrapped, just waiting on last of the vinyl to arrive to finish and will upload photos
Thanks again
