Exclamation Sport Automatic Transmission? Which Cars?

Hey Fam!

I discovered that my F30 didn't come with Sport Automatic Transmission, stock. Now I am curious to which series have it stock?!

Either way, I wanted to do a video for the F30 community on how I added it using Bimmercode, it changed the entire feel and personality of my F30. Faster Shifts, Aggressive gear changes without a tune. I can't wait to get BM3 Stage1 and really feel a night and day difference.

It was an option package (2TB) that included SAT and Paddle Shifters... standard on Sportline and M Sport models.

Edit: Starting in 2014, package also included leather wrapped SAT shifter which is different in size and shape than standard shifter.

That is interesting, mine was supposedly M Sport package (Added on) and it was never part of this. Also, Sport+ was not part of this as well. Soooo?

As a data point, my 2014 328d Sportline has SAT but no paddles.

Interesting... a true Sportline without paddles... I was pretty darn sure they came together but obviously not in your case. Im wondering if something slightly different was offered package wise for the Diesel models?

Do you have the proper SAT Shifter?

That could be the case, I'm not the original owner...I'm in the process of retrofitting paddles

I do not have the sport shifter. It's possible the previous owner coded in SAT.

Do let me know how that goes! I want to do it on my F30, just scared due to so much wiring involved lol

The wiring is not bad at all, it's one wire from the FEM to the back of the steering wheel...the difficult part, I'm finding, is removing the airbag. I tried for an hour and couldn't get the clips to release the bag. If you find a wheel with the paddles already installed, it'll make things much easier. I'll post pics and info once I complete this.

If you're retrofitting to paddle shifters you will probably have to drill your wheel for the paddles.

I bought a replacement wheel without the holes and my original one did. I wish I had bought one with the holes already drilled.

Mine fit okay. Just not perfect.

I tried it today for fun and LC didn't activate. I'm going to code it and document it . I have a 2016 F30.
