Wing Mirror Retrofit
Hi I’ve retrofitted power folding mirrors today.
I initially wired them wrong so nothing was working and the driver side switch wasn’t working. I had the the pins for the fem and power the wrong way round in the wing mirror passenger plug and door side loom plug. I’ve recently corrected this and now the driver side wing mirrors is working and folding tilting ect. The driver switch is working. However the nothing is working on the passengers wing mirror apart from the indicator any idea please. |

The driver door mirror would work but no functions on the passenger mirror would work without coding?
Also grounding to the indicator light ground point wouldn’t be a issue would it? |

The foldable mirrors always have anti dazzle. You can see the anti-glare function on the edge of the mirror glass. The glass is almost entirely a little blue / purple, but the edge (approx. 4mm) is lighter and not blue / purple. |

LIN bus from FEM A173*4B Pin 27 to mirror Pin5? Positive line routed to pin 6? The ground line has also changed. |

Yes checked all wiring mirror pin 5 lin to door plug pin 12. Then on car body pin 12 to fem module 27. And power (positive) also correct checked power to pin on mirror is there .
I don't understand ground also changed? I have two grounds pin 4 and pin 3 (which was already present) is that not correct? |

I found 2 different wiring diagrams and at the one there was only ground Pin 3 and the other groud Pin 3+4. Now you only need Pin 4 for the ground. But i think it should be no problem when you leave Pin 3 plugged in. Does your inside mirror have the anti dazzle function? And maybe you can check again these values. FEM_01 > PfExternalMirrorIntegration 3115 > ASP_LIN_SPIEGEL = aktiv FEM_01 > PfExternalMirrorMaster 3110 > ASP_AUSKLAPPEN_NACH_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN = aktiv FEM_01 > PfExternalMirrorMaster 3110 > ASP_BEIKLAPPEN = aktiv FEM_01 > PfExternalMirrorMaster 3110 > ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN = aktiv FEM_01 > PfExternalMirrorMaster 3110 > ASP_BORDSTEINAUTOMATIK = aktiv FEM_01 > PfExternalMirrorMaster 3110 > ASP_ELEKTROCHROM_SPIEGELGLAS = aktiv FEM_01 > PfExternalMirrorMaster 3110 > ASP_HEIZUNG_VERBAUT = aktiv FEM_01 > PfExternalMirrorMaster 3110 > ASP_MEMORY_VERBAUT = aktiv FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > ISP_EC = aktiv FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > LIN_ISP_VERBAUT = aktiv FEM_01 > PfInternalMirror 3120 > PF_INMI_LIN_VAR = ISP_g_EC |

I suspect that the mirror may be defective. To test this, you could connect and test the driver's mirror on the passenger side. That won't fit mechanically, but the plugs are the same. |

Ah yes I never thought of this!! Thank you so much didn’t even think If would work like that am going to try it tomorrow will it just plug in? And are the pins the same location on both sides?
I suspect the same as I’ve checked all the wiring with multimeter and continuity 12.5ish vol to power pin and about 11 to FEM(K-Lin) and ground is also working. Thank you for all your help by the way appreciate it Last edited by Saroo; 05-16-2020 at 02:21 AM.. |
