F36 New Owner! Indy Shop Recommendations around East LA?

Hi Guys it's me again, thanks again to everyone who helped advice me on my purchase of a 428i for my wife.

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1713008

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1713996

We are now the proud new owners of a 2015 F36 with only 23k miles! Successfully negotiated 1.5k off of the asking price of 19.9k to what I believe is a great price for the car.

Still a long way until any service is due, but wondering if any of you have recommendations for indy shops around East LA? Just saw one of the previous service records provided by the previous owner and he payed $600 in labor cost alone for a front brake pad change.
Thanks in advance and here are a few pictures!

Not exactly East LA, but I've had good experiences with Johann's Independent.

Unfortunately all the indys I know are IE/ OC. It's a clean car though OP. Have you ever considered learning how to DIY some basic maintenance? Would save you loads of money on all your cars.

Yea I usually always consider DIY before going to the dealerships if there's a significant price difference. I used to own Japanese brands which I am more comfortable working on myself, but since this is the first time I am owning a Bmw, I am worried that anything will trigger some electronic systems to malfunction. What are some services/basic maintenance that you recommend I learn to DIY? Thanks!!

Simple things like brake pads, oil changes go a long way. I'm not sure how handy of a mechanic you are so whenever a service is coming up maybe look up a youtube DIY. Lots of good videos up there and it will give you a good feel if you're comfortable working on the car!

Great! Thanks so much! If it's driven by my wife who's a conservative driver, how long should my oil change intervals be?

Me personally, i'd do 7.5k usually maybe at MAX 10k. You'll find people that are advocates for 5k, 7k, 10k, 15k. Maybe start at 7.5k, see how the oil looks and base your decision off that

You could check out this websites for a BMW Indy Shop. I've had good luck in my area. https://www.bimrs.org
I also suggest you join BMW CCA (BMWCCA.ORG). The local chapters can refer you to good Indy Shops in your area and some Indy Shops offer discounts to members. Check it out!
BTW .... new brake pads at 23K miles seems a little unusual at least based upon my experience.

Thanks! Was able to find a seemingly very trustworthy shop 15mins away from me

Thinking of it, a brake pad change so early does seem a little sketchy. Will definitely go have them checked out. Thanks for the tip!
