restraint system error

I have a 2012 bmw 328i - f30 today I got a code "restraint system error" - I moved the passenger seat shut the car and started again and the code disappeared. This the second time this happens in one week . I just bought this car a month ago .
Previous owner changed the battery 3 month before sale at Bmw dealer . Any thoughts ?

Could be an airbag problem. You may have to check the connections.
Or the sensors in the seats. Or the seat belts.

I’m no mechanic or a DIYer. I’d check the codes. If you don’t DIY than the auto parts stores can check it. Find yourself a good mechanic.

Unfortunately,I can’t help you there. This doesn’t sound like a DIY job if you are not experienced. It may only be a bad connection. But there are a lot of places to check.

You start by buying a code reader if you want to DIY.

I'd say you've got a loose connection under that seat. Disconnect the battery negative lug, lest you cause more codes to pop up, and then make sure all of the connections under that seat are secure, then reconnect the battery. If that doesn't do the trick you'll need an OBD diagnostic tool to figure it out. I use a Foxwell NT 510.

Thanks I will wait and see if it comes on again and if so I will disconnect the negative terminal and check all the connection. Thanks
