Battery drain nightmare after amp fried...
I am having a Battery drain nightmare after amp fried...
2013 BMW 335i Convertible In short, have a Bimmertech amp which drowned, quite literally... Seems the trunk lid was not closed all the way when it rained and the left cubby area in trunk where the amp is filled with water. <GROAN> A by product of this was the amp/stereo/? not only stopped working but it drained power with car off and locked. I removed the amp completely and got a new battery. BUT the new battery died as there is a 12.5 amp draw happening. When measuring the draw, key is not in key holder in the car, trunk is open (since have to go back and forth from trunk to glove box when pulling fuses) and passenger door. Neither trunk or interior lights are on (I pulled receptacle in trunk so it is not grounded and turned off interior light). I have gone through and pulled, one by one, 75%+ of the fuses though none when pulled changed the amount of amps being pulled. Before I go through the rest of them, any other suggestions? It is either get fixed, put on battery tender every night or a battery disconnect switch and remember to disengage it daily. UGH! |

Sounds like you've got 25% of the fuses to go! There's gotta be some sorta fried relay or something which is completing a circuit with the battery.
