Exhaust flap code

Anyone else with MPPSK seen this code before?
Had a pretty hard start this morning (it was cold and ethanol starts hard). Exhaust sounded louder than usual and now I keep getting this code. Exhaust flap is definitely stuck open - or maybe it's closed lol. Whichever state bypasses the muffler and puts the MPPSK into straight pipe mode.
I've checked all the connections and and wiring and everything looks fine.

Update:
Found a spot where the exhaust flap wire had dropped down a bit and was contacting the exhaust. This had melted the protective covering and exposed the two wires inside. The protective covering on one of these was also melted exposing the wiring inside. I believe from how it was sitting, the wiring had contacted the metal exhaust.

Seems like a pretty straightforward two-wire circuit, so I just wrapped the exposed wire with electrical tape and cleared the codes - but no dice. The code reoccurs and the exhaust flap is staying in straightpipe mode.

If just the wire insulation/plastic melted, just wrap it.

I was thinking about that, but also wondered if this short could have blown the fuse. I might try to check that.
Fuse box in my old bimmer was under the glove box. Where is it in the F30? Guess I could Google it too, lol

I believe the main one under the passenger cowl is for engine functions, and then the one in the trunk is for interior.

If not the fuse, then the electronics controlling it (that would be sad). Have you tried pulling the battery cable and clearing the codes? Maybe it latches into some safety mode.

I wondered the same about whether it damaged the little actuator that opens and closes the valve. Honestly I just went ahead and enabled the cold start noise reduction in MHD and have been ignoring it this week. I don't drive it in comfort mode very much anyway 😂

Work has been crazy and I've got this cylinder 4 ignition/combustion code that I'm more focused on atm, so it might not get any attention until I figure out what's going on there.

Good point, forgot about the actuator. Your plan "B" is still rock solid.

Same thing happened to me. It blew the fuse that made my parking sensors and cameras stop working. It was odd

Are you saying that your flap control wire was melted by the exhaust also? And that led to the blown fuse?
