Need help identifying the jack points from this video

I've read a few different threads on this, but was not able to find an answer..
apologies if this answer exists already.

It would be easier if I had Esco jack stands but would prefer to use the standard jack stands I have at home already.

Anyway, I've been watching the Throtl 335i build and noticed that he jacks up the car on the side, and uses the standard jack stand.

Does anyone know where he is putting the stands here? Im pretty new to doing maintenance at home.. your help is appreciated! @2:32 mark..

Lol no? I mean maybe I'm just not that familiar but he jacks up the side with the jack point, and the jack stands are put into place that aren't the side jack points of the vehicle. Am I wrong ?

I haven't been under mine to know where exactly he's putting the jackstands, but probably in a spot where a cross brace is mounted...not 'on' the suspension.

You can jack from front or rear center points and put jack stands under front jack points, then lift the rear (again, not exactly sure, but there should be some center rear jacking point in front of the rear differential.)

I remember worrying about jacking up my first bmw too, OP. Don't goof around with jacking points...put one in the wrong place, you can injure yourself or your car. If you're still unsure, dress nicely, buy some coffee, and try to bribe a bmw tech at local dealer to tell you. (Watch lots of vids...check the bmw TIS...must be something there.)

There is! This is for my car, OP...you can back up from here and find yours, I'm sure.

he's putting them under the control arms where they connect to the subframe. I do the same thing up front, but if you're installing side skirts then it makes sense you'd need to do the same thing in the rear.

Aside from the cars side lifting points, Placing supports/jackstands directly under the subframe - front and/or rear- is the safest way to go; will run no risk of damaging any suspension components.
