KW V1 coilovers on F30?

Who here is running KW V1s on their f30?
how are the preset dampening settings?
are you happy with your purchase?

Thinking about getting them for my 335i x drive. I don't track my car as she is my daily but i still drive pretty aggressively at times so i definitely don't want to lose all stiffness. 'm curious to see how the feel of V1s are.

Thanks.

Yes, I have them and I am happy with them. Stiffer but not harsh or bouncy. Dead silent too, no creaks or binding noises.

Same here, doesnt ride as well as stock but still comfortable. Doesnt completely get rid of the "floaty" feeling of the stock suspension on bumpy roads but makes it a bit better.

I love mine, I'd say I actually like the ride better than stock. I had the track handling package with the adaptive suspension too. But honestly you should see if you can get a ride in a car equipped with it, try and keep same tire and wheel size too as that makes a huge difference, any misgivings I may have about the ride with V1's (mostly crashing over larger road imperfections) go away when I switch from my 20" BBS back to the stock 18" THP wheels/tires. The car is always completely stable even on rough uneven pavement, something I noticed wasn't always the case, even with the stock adaptive suspension.

I went with KW because I my past experience with them on other vehicles gave me no question on the comprise between ride and ride height adjustablity I was getting my self into.

I have had KW street comforts for almost 2 years on my 435. Zero complaints rides and looks great.

Is it stiffer? I can't say for sure. Feels close to stock suspension. The springs being progressive might be making me feel that way. Only improvement in handling and body roll is possibly from lowering of the center of gravity. There's no loss in comfort and it absorbs the road irregularities/bumps better than stock suspension. I was expecting it to be stiffer. I might have liked the B14 better, the springs are linear and stiffer. However, you get more ride height adjustibility with KW, you can go low without pushing the coilovers to the limit. With the height that I'm on right now the B14 would've been at the lowest setting and it does not do well when pushed to the limit.

I asked a lot of members before getting KW V1 and nobody has ever had any issues, some even had them on for 80k miles without any issues, build quality and reliability is top notch. Good luck.

How low are you now out of curiosity? like how many inches/millimeters

My front wheel gap was 2 1/8" and rear was 1 5/8", the rear was sagging, not sure why, I've about 48k miles on my car. I asked a member with a fairly new 440 xDrive and he had 2 1/8" gap all round, front as well as rear. Right now my front gap is 5/8" and rear is 3/4", I wanted a little bit of rake. So the lowering is about 35mm rear and 40mm in the front when compared to a newer 4 series xDrive. It was about 5-10mm lower for a few days, looked much better but I wanted some clearance for my driveway which has a huge slope. I'll raise it about 10-15mm for winter. I'd definitely go 5-10mm lower than where I'm now if the driveway wasn't an issue. I think KW can lower up to 60mm. This is when it was lowered about 40-45mm, again, no loss in comfort even at that height.

Awesome to hear in here that it's more on the softer side but allows you to get a good drop. Definitely sold on the V1's now!

Very happy, I got rid of my run flats, then went with KWV1s. Sure some bouncy spots are more rough, but it makes up for it with better driving in the corners, braking, accelerating!
