Power Steering interval
last time I did power steering was April 2018 and its about to be two years. Do you guys replace it every two years accurately or just do it whenever or every 3 years. The reservoir looks half full kinda or 75% and one of the techs say when your autox or tracking the fluid boils and can come out of the reservoir. Is thatt trueee?

You're more likely to do harm than good by changing it out every two years by means of introducing dirt or grit. You also don't need to change it all the time. I tend to do it every 100,000 miles. When I did it, it looked fine.
The power steering fluid has a weep hole built into it. It will very slowly leak over time, but it's not an appreciable amount. This is why when you clean the reservoir it always seems to get a little dirty again later. |

I've changed mine every 150,000 miles. I've done it twice now. If the reservoir is oily, just get a new o-ring for the cap.
NBA is correct, the more you change it, the more chance to get dirt into the system. |

Oh wow. Im at 137,000 miles right now and i changed it two years ago. So its not even good to open the cap up? Dirt gets in? The e90 steering system can allow such long interval?

When I had my 335 still in warranty years ago, the service mgr always recommend the power steering fluid be changed every 50,000 miles

I've always thought that once you get to 100,000 miles to change out all the fluids and then change them every 50,000 except the brake fluid. Reason being the parts these fluids protect aren't new anymore. They won't hold up to a fluid that's 75,000 plus miles old like they used to when they were new. |

I didn't do number 1. I finally got smart on number 3 and sandwiched the gasket in between 2 beads of Ultra Black. No leaks I've run 19.6 psi w/ stock turbos. My turbos are original too. |
