Shift Lever Help :/

Hey guys, I have an Automatic e92 335i and my shift lever is loose when going between DS and D mode. It wouldn’t click in like my buddy’s would. My DS mode still works but I would have to keep my hand on the lever or it would go back to D. Sucks because I can’t even use my paddle shifters :/ Any help on why it’s loose?
