AWRON Gauge BMW 335i
Is anyone familiar with this amazing product? Apparently the company shutdown a few months ago and it's not available anymore. Is there any place this can be purchased??

Since this has been resurrected. FCP Euro does have a drivers vent gauge by P3 for about $450. I couldn't find any center vent gauges though. Might get one for myself for Christmas since the lack of a water temp gauge in the car makes me nervous.

I have the P3 for years and have always preferred it. OE look, easier install and has all the extra data you'd want.

If P3 hooked into the CAN other than the OBD2 port and used an OLED display, I would be all over it. That is what made the AWRON IMO much higher quality and a more fluid install. The OLED display on the AWRON with further software development has a lot of potential. The P3 seems to use 7 segment LED with a simple led bar graph. Functional, but a much more simplistic approach.
I know there are a lot of nerds on this forum. If the community could obtain the source code for the AWRON, the possibilities could be endless. The hardware isn't anything special, it's all in the software. Then again it might be time for a community project, but it would suck to start over when most of the engineering was already complete. |
