DSC/ABS fault codes despite ECU Testing saying it has no faults
Hello all,
I sent my car to a garage in SW London, a reputable one, they told me the ABs module was dead so needed to be replaced. I bought a diag cable for INPA and it seemed that the module was the likely culprit. I sent the module off to ECU Testing and they have assured me that the module isn't faulty. Today I refitted the module and bled the brakes I used INPA and the following menu in the picture below to bleed the brakes, the pedal, it was success. Initially when I went to start the bleeding sequence I forgot to press shift to use the right hand side of the menu and I accidentally pressed F5 Abgleich Analog MCI Ventile. I am a german speaker and as I understand it, this calibrates part of the DSC unit. When I accidentally initiated the process it instantly failed and it added another fault to the fault memory. I have listed the two photographs below. https://postimg.cc/NKcZ1byT https://postimg.cc/qhy8Xc6h Before I bled the brakes and accidentally triggered the fault from this calibration I cleared and read the fault memory and this fault was not present until after I accidentally pressed F5. Out of curiosity I also tried to run the other calibration on the above menu by pressing F6, this also failed and added another fault to the memory. Before I sent the module off for testing it was only the amber handbrake sign that was showing. Now the DSC light and the ABS light are also on and no matter how many times I try to clear the codes the calibration that triggered the lights remain, even if I don't run any calibration after clearing. This is the fault that was displayed before I accidentally calibrated. https://postimg.cc/BLZkPvVK This says that there is an electrical defect for the rear left pressure sensor. Isn't this a sensor within the module? As far as I know there isn't a pressure sensor in the calliper? I also have the analogue values for the pressure sensors, this is with my foot on the brake pedal and the engine running. https://postimg.cc/G4k5MY0D It clearly shows that no information is being shown for the rear left pressure sensor. Now my question is this, does this point to a faulty unit despite the testing carried out by ECU Testing. I have heard very good things from them and I find it hard to believe that the module is responsible. So where does that leave me? What else can I do? I really am lost for ideas. I am genuinely struggling with this and any help would be massively appreciated. |
