Serpentine belt
So I have a 2007 335i convertible and when I was installing the serpentine belt there was 2 different diagrams. The first one was the original but then the 2nd one was apparently the updated one because the original caused the belt to rub on the subframe. Can anyone tell me if this is right ?

I can't verify the belt routing, I take a pic before I remove the old one so I know how the new goes. Out of curiosity, is that belt OEM, it doesn't look like the belt on my 328i, turbos aside, I would've figured the belts would be similar.

That doesn’t look like my belt either...2007 335 here...
Also...I had the same issue you’re referencing except the belt I purchased wouldn’t fit with the original routing...only the revised... |

That's a Goodyear Gatorbelt. I'm curious about the alternative belt routing instructions. Could OP post them up please?
I understood the issue to be due to the (insufficient) gap between the power steering pulley and the subframe. I doubt routing the belt differently would avoid this situation |

Cheers for the link.
I have seen N55 do the same thing. Belt routing for N55 is as per the drawings in the repair instructions and also the second 'technical' drawing in that link. |
