Injector refurb job ?
Hey guys, I’ve opened up everything to do the valvecover gasket job, I don’t believe the injector tips are spraying the way they should, the microscopic nozzle tips have to create a spray pattern optimal for combustion, the way they dame out they’re burnt up and I can’t sand them down or clean the tips coz I might clog the pores... anyone knows someone who refurbishes these
Thanks She has 75k in the clock

I would check in with Matt Whitbread or Andrew Rodriguez or the many other super knowledgeable people on this forum (or the FB forum). There has been a post on refurbishing injectors in the last week -- maybe it was you! As you suggest the tips are super delicate and they can be destroyed by well meaning efforts at cleaning.

I've got a couple spare injectors that I've been thinking of cleaning up professionally. I'll probably contact Rodriguez about that as well since you suggested it (I hadn't even considered they might do it, never seen it advertised on their website). |

I'd just soak the bottom 1/3rd in kerosene in an ultrasonic cleaner which should dissolve the soot. I did that with my vw tdi injectors before getting new nozzles.

Every injector that is tested by a qualified outfit will end up with clean tips. I’ve tested many and asked why the tips are clean. Tips are not getting cleaned on purpose. It’s a byproduct of testing fluid running through them. Go figure it’s not diesel they use.

you can open injector but it's torqued at some 100nm as I seen on youtube. you can open, there are few tiny metal parts in the tip. you can soak them up in ultrasonic cleaner that can be bought for some 50 bucks used for jewelry cleaning.... guys are doing it, but I wouldn't do it myself since I am lacking tools and patience and technical prowess, where I can't even remove fricking pressure converter plate burried in a tight s..hole where I cant even reach with my fingers
