Car software update problem

Car in for 1st service today. 2018 model.

Dealer couldn't get software update to work and had to keep car in workshop as looks like upgrade attempt has crashed the whole system. Not got a good feeling about this....the Manager did say if not a software issue, could be a head unit (???) problem.

Anybody else had any problems with dealer upgrading software?

Got a 320d manual just now. Not tempted to change.....

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago
