Help--can rear view camera be added on 07 X5?

I'm considering buying an 07 X5 4.8i that has most of the options I want on it, but does not have the technology package or the premium sound. It does have the park distance control, and it appears to have the same screen as the nav equipped cars I have test driven. I love my Nuvi and don't care too much about built in nav, but I really want the factory rear view camera system as a safety feature. Anybody know if I could get that added and any idea what it would cost? I know I can upgrade the stereo if I am unhappy with it and I think I can live without everything else in those packages but I really want the rear view camera!

I guess as long as I am asking, I should go one further and ask if anyone knows is it possible to buy the night vision system parts for a 7 series and put them into an X5? I'd love to have that safety feature also! I was hoping they'd add that and the twin turbo V8 option on the 09 X6's, and if they had then I would be ordering one of those. But without that, I'm inclined to save a bunch on an 08 model instead! Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

you can add a rear view camera but it wont be oem bmw. you have to get a module to allow your module to add the camera. buying the module also allow you to watch dvd with a dvd player, play video games, watch tv....

Here you have the instructions, shouldn't cost to much as it takes about 3 to complete...

Thank you very much Branko. I had not found that X5 site, there is a lot of useful stuff there!

I ended up going with a new built to order 2008 X5 when one of the dealers I have been talking with offered me 1.9% financing and $2500 off MSRP with my choice of all the exact options I wanted, so I ordered a car that I won't have to do the retrofit on.
