Help-Mac experts needed

Hey fellow bmw enthusiasts, this is a very simple question for Mac user. I need to use the "scp" command to do secure copy. I want to pass the password as part of the command but not sure what is the correct syntax.

For example, this will work put the system will prompt you for a password.

scp filename userid@hostname:.

then you are prompted for password. I want to pass the password as part of the command so I need to use the -o option but how?

Anyone familiar with this?

TIA for any help...
