335D Engine Suspension Lug to Hold Engine

Hey Everyone,

I am looking to replace my engine mounts and my oil pan gasket at the same time. To do that, I will need to temporarily support the engine from the top with an engine support bar.

The BMW instructions shows that there is a point on the front of the engine "Front Suspension Lug" to support the engine with. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...ctions/I6aIpDR

Could someone tell me where I can buy a lug with loop on the end of it that fits our diesels? I can't seem to find this information and don't want to buy the wrong size.

Thanks for the help.

I answered my own question. I found a picture online and there should already be a loop installed on the engine to hook up a hook on to on the front of the engine just behind and above the EGR Cooler.

Sorry for the troubles.

This is what I used to support the engine when I replaced the two engine mounts.

When I tried to lift to engine straight up, I could not get enough clearance in order to get the engine mounts out. I had to partially lift the engine with the bar, and then tilt the engine left and then right using a floor jack with a piece of wood pushing the engine mount brackets.

I wrapped one chain around the turbo piping when I did my dpf delete on my 335d. Then I believe the other chain was around the drivers side engine mount bracket. That allowed me to tilt the engine pretty well. Dpf just dropped out. Oh and getting the engine mount out was easy
