M3 Bonnet/Mirrors Questions???

Has anyone considered adding an M3 bonnet or M3 mirrors or both to their E92 or E93?

Any idea if there are any fitment issues with either parts?

Likely cost? if not bought from a dealer?

Don't think those parts will fit. The M3 only shares the door panels and boot lid with the E92

An M3 bonnet will fit on an E92/E93 fine - they don't 'share' the same parts as they are different! That is why you want to fit the 'different - ie: M3' parts!

There are lots of M3 bonnets fitted in the US - also the mirrors should be fine too - I can't see BMW making different doors just for the relatively low volume M3.

I have seen both parts on ebay every now and again but they go for good money - I also want the mirrors on my 'vert

I'm remember noticing that the doors are also different on the M3 when I last saw one close up. There's a channel on the door that lines up with the side vents on the front quarter panels (or are they called wings?)

It will fit but will look daft. Dont bother unless your going to fit the front and rear wings also.

Actually, out off all the parts you could have picked, the dash on the M cars is different.

please can we keep the thread on track! the original question was not the difference between the 2 cars, just if the mirrors and bonnet would fit?

I have a project in mind and was looking at the compatibility of these parts!

Mate, to fit the bonnet and mirrors is half a job and the car would look daft.

If you want the M3 replica look you will need the front and rear wider arched wings. Costly to buy and fit i would imagine.

No i definatly don't want a replica of the M3!
I'm looking at a full kit consisting of front and rear bumpers and sideskirts but the finishing touches might be the M3 bonnet all painted, or even a power domed carbon bonnet part paint and part carbon. Also the M3 mirrors are awesome.

So the fitment of the bonnet and mirrors are important.

I have found out that the mirrors are a direct swap just costly but not seen the bonnet fitted to a cab yet?

Have you got any pictures of the bodykit you are thinking of fitting?

The bonnet will fit as will the mirrors. Prob be quite fiddly though the mirrors.

Even with bumpers it will look daft only for the reason you wont have the wider arches.

vert fitted with both M3 mirrors and a large humpy bonnet Judging by the international press coverage the car has had plus the awards it has won, can't look too bad without wide arches!

Prob one of the most modded vert's on E90post!

Yes, it actually looks quite good - perhaps a little un-subtle for my liking, but that's more the stripes than the bonnet itself.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=234

I reckon an M3 bonnet would look pretty good on a M-Sport E92, but there's always the danger of looking like an M3 wannabe...

that is an M3 replica bonnet and the issue with that is it does not fit properly. does not line up around the grills at the front - leaves a gap (see pictures)

Mirrors look awesome.

I've read once on the UK BMW magazine that there is a company in UK that's fiting M3 stuff to non-M E92 models.

I would kill for a sideskirt
