741M Wheels on 2020 M50i - are they different?
Are these wheels different than the standard 741M? In the ordering guide, it looks like the inner part of the wheel is shiny black on the M50i vs. gray on the other models?
However, the X6 ordering guide shows it the same way, but the new X6 configurator appears to show the gray wheel for the M50i. If the wheels aren't different, I don't know why they included them on a separate line in the ordering guide specific to the M50i. |

The M50i order code is ZXN for the 741M rims, and the code is 1XN for the 40i. On the other hand, all other wheels have the same order code across all models. So what's the difference between ZXN and 1XN? The sizes and tires appear identical. |

The X6 has three different order codes for the 741M because you CAN order non-run flat. 1XN = 741M runflat, 40i models ZXN = 741M runflat, 50i models (what's the difference from 1XN?) 1XM = 741M non-runflat, M50i |

At this point no one can definitively say why it's two different codes and why the bi-color 741M is possibly different between the models.

Always good to offer up some hard evidence... ha.
OK, I’m spending way too long trying to pull-up the non-US configurator I saw... wasn’t UK or German. I had those on my M50i build until I switched this week to the 22” Cerium Gray - the only reason I originally ordered those was specifically because the bi-color was confirmed black. Getting old is hard. I’m still looking... |

J-Man - so I got “confirmation” from four sources... who all said black is the ZXN 741 bi-color: two different BMW part counters and two BMW Genius, also at different dealerships.
But I’ll add my agreement to both you and Auricom’s earlier posts... until we actually see the ZXN 741 version in photos upon delivery, there doesn’t seem 100% proof either way. FYI, just this week I finally went with the 22” Cerium Gray wheels along with the Extended Shadown Line option to black out all the other Cerium Gray trim bits (save for the side mirrors which get the body-color treatment). For the record, this is my 8th BMW order and I feel least confident for this one as to how everything will look. I did find the non-North America configurators to help given that we still can’t build the M50i online with the US site yet - both UK and German have pretty decent configurator sites. (And the German adds a cool night view to “see” the exterior in both day and night!) |

Thanks for the information. I ordered the ZXN 741M with my car, so we'll see what happens. I take delivery in about 6 weeks, but I'm sure we'll know before then.
The only hard part is that if the bi-color ISN'T black, I would probably choose the 747M 22" like you did. I also specd the extended shadowline trim because I thought it would accent nicely with the black bi-color of the 741M wheels. Oh well, first world problems. |

There is finally a picture of one on cars.com and the wheels are the same - orbit grey. BMW must not have the black bi-color ready to go yet, or they changed their minds, or it never existed.
Oddly, here are some 741M replicas on ebay with black gloss bi-color. Looks really nice. |
