429A low pressure underboost; many new parts I'm at a loss. HELP!
Posting here for additional viability
This is cross posted on NA BMW Diesel Owners 429A low pressure underboost; many new parts I'm at a loss. HELP! I've been chasing this issue on my 2013 35d for a while now, and cannot seem to figure it out. Currently have 107k miles, new water pump, thermostat, glow plugs, glow plug controller, vacuum res, vacuum controller, pressure converters and vacuum lines, boost hose seals, cleaned MAF.
Any help\guidance is appreciated.

I haven't been able to find any exhaust, turbo or boost leaks.

what egr delete kit did you use? it could be leaking at the exhaust manifold.
Your dpf could be clogged as well. Also could be an issue with vacuum lines/reservoir. Reservoir is pretty easy to test.

Vacuum lines, pressure converters and res have all been replaced. Considering the dpf, not sure how to confirm this yet? Last edited by madbim; 07-23-2019 at 05:16 PM.. |

Ahh good call; I'll look to see if I can find any oil seepage around the valve cover.

I don’t know the m57 too well but on the n54 I plugged my air compressor into the diverted valve and compressed the whole system, then listen for hissing sounds ...
Turned out it was the diverted valve itself leaking Haha, now I have forge DVs that can handle high boost, anyway back to m57 I’m not sure if they have those or not... also Intercooler connection was leaking boost at some point too I had to reseat it Last edited by 007_e350; 07-24-2019 at 02:40 PM.. |

Madbim we had a good discussion over on FB. I think Dima has a great suggestion to check that your SCR is not clogged. Remove the metering valve and see what happens to the exhaust pressure. Also, please confirm that regenerations happen.

Thanks for the update. I received the same error in a pull from a standstill in 3rd. Twice. Someone told me it could be a vacuum leak. Since I want to keep my alphabet and run meth, I am pulling my intake and running new lines next week.
Glad you figured yours out! |
