BMW M3 vs Nissan GT-R
Hey guys.
Nissan GT-R is on the Market right now. those mark up prices another $30,000, which is going to be over $100,000. Twin Turbo V6. BMW M3 Sedan around $65,000-$70,000 with most options on it. V8 do you guys think $100,000 GT-R is worth it? I just ordered 09 M3 sedan AW. |

: 100k GT-R is worth it for those that want that, a GT-R... For 70k, I'd take the GT-R over the M3 in a heart beat...but for a 100k....I can pick up a used F360... oh and congrats on the AW M3 |

They will release the V spec and you can just picture the markups on THAT. Even less will be made than the regular GT-R. If stupid Nissan would produce more people would buy it. I don't understand this artificial production garbage. I would buy one if it were available.

How can they still mark up the GT-R considering the economy we are in?
To me, GTR and M3 are completely different cars. GTR has incredible performance and electronics. But it is a bit to tech for me. I still want to be responsible for my launches myself and handling. |

mark ups are for losers. if you cant manage to get your hands on a car without a markup, you need to stop fucking with dealers and go through leasing agencies.
edit: not talkin about ferraris and insane limited production cars.

Eh I just don't think GTR is that great of an everyday car. I was deciding between GTR and m3 as well, but it was for my daily driver. so i went with the m3

If it's meant to be your DD, go with M3. GT-R has nothing in common with M3 except the MSRP.

I can tell you that the mark-up for the GT-R won't hold. Nowadays it is possible to get MSRP deals or with little mark-up ($5k to $10k).

BMW M3 under sticker and GT-R over sticker.
Even at the same price, I would take the M3. The rear seats in the GT-R are a joke, If I need a 2 seater with extra storage space inside (those little rear seats), I will choose a Porsche Carrera instead of a GT-R. If I need real space for people in the rear, M3 is my choice. This is based on my street car needs. The GT-R is much faster than the M3 & Carrera, but how much fun can be had on the streets with a GT-R, given that its limits are so high, not much I think. For racetrack use, rear storage space is not a problem, in that case I can justify the GT-R. At $70k, the GT-R is a very fast track car, and probably nothing (off the showroom) can touch it in its price range. But most cars I get to share space at the track are modified, in this case the preparation and $$$ will determine which car is faster. For track use, I would get a 2004 GT3 instead of a brand new GT-R.

My two cents: depends on what you want, Japanese tech/muscle or German class. Both offer two totally different packages that appeal to different people.

just my .02. I have a friend that just got one and I was able to ride in it.... few things.... as posted earlier, back seat on the gtr is a much tighter fit than in my E92 M3. The GTR is fast... faster than the m3, I guess but I just like our cars sound and approach to getting fast... lots of drivetrain noises in the interior when you're just tooling around.... sounds like grinding and rubbing but he did say that it's supposed to sound like that.... it looks a lot meaner in person than on the pics....
here's a pic

A few people were getting MSRP from Day 1. But aren't these cars pretty much all spoken for now anyway? It seems markup is the norm on the cars, MSRP is the very rare exception.

i can tell you that my friend got his for MSRP but he had to go through tons of hoops to get it since he already had a deposit in place for a while... needless to say, lawyers almost got involved for him to still get it at MSRP... you know how these stealerships are

You dont have to compare each other, the gtr is 1 second faster at 100km/h, ok, big deal. Quicker way to kill yourself And maybe the topspeed is higher , but when will you be able to drive at full speed? On a track? How many of us will go on a track on a regular base? Damn, BMW compares to an overrated (ugly) Nissan (which is more expensive) Make your choice BMW FTW |

You are not always racing someone from a stoplight. There are times where it is just you and the machine. At those times, the M3 always appeals to me more than the GTR. I like the GTR, nice engineering excercise, but I lust after the M3 24/7.
