pre lci inner DRL bulb

One of my DRL's; a H7 bulb on my e90 330i with adaptive xenons has burnt out. I have seen many posts that it is a real pain to change this bulb. Some say it is easy while most give up. I will tackle that when I get there. My question is about getting rid of the ugly yellow color H7 DRL bulb. What color temp would match the 4300K stock xenon light. I have read that no matter what temp it will never always appear yellow. I guess that would be ok but my main question is will any H7 bulb work for replacement of the inner DRL's? I know that the DRL's run at half power so does the wattage have to match factory specs? I apologize for the all the questions but I could not find an good answer after searching and searching. Thanks guys!

I would get a used FRM 2 module from eBay for $100.00. Do your research. Any FRM 2 module will not do.

Program the FRM 2 to your car using Winkfp & ECS Expert along with INPA.

I'd then get either 6000k LED H7's or get Phillips Diamond Vision H7. Weisschlict makes a great bulb but you'll pay for them too.

Last, I'd get m-tech v4 or Lux v7 angel eye bulbs.

I'd use Carly to make the car not look for low voltage on my headlights and also use it to program the angel eyes as my DRL's.

I don't think getting the old H7 out is too much of a PITA. Patience.

I currently have HID fog light kit installed and MTECH v4's(thought about changing to LUX V7). So your saying I can't just switch to a higher temp H7 bulb for the DRL's? Is this because of an error light or because it will never match the color white of a LED? Thx for ur help.

You can switch up to an LED H7, but you will get an error code unless the LED bulb you are using has a built in resistor. The M-tech v4 has built in resistors which is why you don't get error codes. Weislicht is the only h7 bulb that is of High Quality that I know of that has a built in resistor. Your gonna want a bulb that has 6000k in temp.

Otherwise, you will have to use Carly to tell the FRM module not to look for low or no voltage signals in your headlights.

Personally, I like not having the inner bulbs as DRL's. Having angel eyes for DRL's is a better look.

Yes I agree the angel eyes look better as DRL's. Would a higher temp. 6-7K H7 halogen bulb work and not look yellow? Something like a Phillips Diamond Vision H7.
