335i overheating issue
my situation...leaking coolant tank at the seam. car got hot...limped it home. my shop replaced tank, check for blown head gasket...it's OK. tested the repair, water pump rpm's ranged from 50 to 197...Question is this normal? never got over 220F driving and idling per the scan tool he was using. I drove the car 75 miles around town and highway...all good. got my bluetooth scan with Torque app, and was getting it setup for my 335i...was able to see water temperature. about 20 minutes of idling in the garage (60F temperature) temp was at 212F, minute later 230F, another minute....250F shut the car off, let it cool, checked coolant, it was good. not sure what to do next? 2012 with 34,000 miles and i don't beat on the car.

Likely water pump. Not sure if that range is normal, but I’d guess it’s bad. Not sure if it’s like the e92 335i, but I’m sure it’s part plastic and the age is just as hard or harder on them than the miles.
