Lci active head rests
Hello, i have a seatbelt and airbag light on due to the headrests being deployed. If i was to get another set of active headrests and just swap them over, will this clear the faults or will i have to still get it coded out.

Not sure, but I think you still need to clear the fault code.
When I did my steering wheel retrofit; the airbag plug wasn't all the way in. I plugged it properly yet still had the error on the dash until I cleared it |

You'll probably have to clear the fault codes before it'll go away since it seems to be based on a "counter" of times that it has not seen the airbag in the proper resistance measurement.
I just have a resistor plugged into mine since the connector went bad and wasn't making good contact. |

Sorry, no idea.
I would invest in a BimmerGeeks cable, then download the software from their site (it's free), and I bet there are some tutorials out there on how to clear the errors out. If you couldn't figure it out, then I would get their ProTool Android app (~$150 Canadian) and you can use their cable with their app. I personally went with their Bluetooth adapter for convenience. I wouldn't waste money on cheaper tools. |
