Option: 1MA M Sport exhaust system

I am planning to option "1MA - M Sport exhaust system"
Just wanted to check with forum members who already have cars with this option:
Is it possible to visually identify the difference between regular and 1MA exhaust?

If not then how to you verify that the 1MA options selected has been built in the car?

That is a very good question.

We have this on our 40i and it's really quiet - was expecting it to be close to the X3M40i.

Exactly, and below is the response I got from AndroidRobot. Thanks to him it is clear on what to look for both visually and while driving:

"obvious from the valve (not sure if non-MSport one's have this so I guess that's your answer) when I put the car into Sport vs comfort or adaptive. If you look under the car you'll see a wire connected to the valve for control, there's a few posts about people leaving then open instead of iDrive controlling it. "
