Bootmod3 safety
I'm planning to tune my car and wondering how sage is the BM3 tune? I mean can it cause dangerous situations while driving? Like sudden or unpredictable acceleration or throttle response which can be unsafe on highway driving. Does it interfere with safety systems in the car? (Airbag deployment, traction control etc.)
I read a disclaimer about on their website which got me concerned. This post is not to undermine BM3 and only to educate myself on tuning. https://www.protuningfreaks.com/prod...5i-x3-x4-x5-m2 Some items may not be legal for "on highway use". PRO TUNING FREAKS makes no guarantees to the legality of any parts used for "on highway vehicles" and accepts no responsibility for compliance with the vehicle's factory warranty.

BM3 is safe. It doesn't disable anything that you mentioned. It's stock drivability with more power. That's all. You're not going to experience sudden acceleration spikes on the highway or anything like that. You control the car, right?
That language is always present when buying aftermarket parts. They don't want to be liable for problems that arise from their product. If they say it's for track use only, they can't get sued when some dumbshit crashes his M4 into an apartment complex. If you tune your car and your engine blows a week later (0.0005% chance), BM3 is not going to replace the engine and they don't care if BMW won't either, since you tuned it. You'll need a metal CP if you plan on tuning.

While not "unintended acceleration" it certainly made me pucker my cheeks while accelerating to hit a gap in traffic because it was quite a bit faster than stock. I'm used to it now, but the first day out I about clipped the back end of a semi because it accelerated so much quicker.

Thanks! I am just looking to increase power by 30-50 HP. The low end torque is so annoying and jerky on the 335i and can take a while for turbo to kick in. I also own an M2C and now I know how bad the N55 lag is and feels so unnatural. Therefore would like to tune to smoothen the power delivery. Only BM3 comed to mind. And only concern is safety.

And as others have said, safety wise you'll be fine! They have to use that wordage for legal reasons. People will sue over anything/everything today. Hell, my electric toothbrush even came with a safety disclaimer. Will it kill me? Not unless I stab myself with it!
