Front windshield washer problem

Hello guys,

Yesterday the front washer stopped working out of the blue. I'm going to list everything for convenience:

- rear washer works fine

- when I pull the stock to wash there is no sound and the wipers don't move at all

- wipers work normally when I move the stock up (or on auto)

-all the fuses are good

Could be the washer motor. I had to replace ours on our 2007 335i. I seem to remember it was behind the passnger side front wheel well. They are only a few dollars for aftermarket.

wipers not moving indicates that it's not a washr pump issue.
if the pump were dead you'd get wipers, just no fluid.

I would suspect the switch in the stalk itself. You'll need inpa/ista so you can check the status os the switch as the electronics see it.
or you'll have to get at the harness and test it with a meter for continuity.
newtis will have the wiring diagrams.

I just had the same symptoms with my 2007 328i coupe. No fluid, no sound from washer motor, and the wipers didn’t move. I replaced the washer pump and everything works again.

BTW, I was able to replace the pump without jacking up the car and removing the wheel.

I have this problem as well. I wonder if they have a failsafe built in so if the washer pump isn't squirting, the wipers won't activate to make the situation worse safety-wise.

I'm going to try replacing the pump and see what happens. Good info.
