Seemelingly useless hose clamp on oil cooler line

Noticed oil cooler line has a clamp around it? Looking on a new part it comes like that from factory.

I know this might seem like a useless thread but I'm just genuinely curious as to why? Wouldn't this reduce oil flow, or is that the point?
