335I N55 VRSF Chargepipe Quality

Hey Guys.....just a quick question for those of you who upgraded to the VRSF chargepipes. Are the weld quality of your pipes this bad?

Purchased from top gear solutions.

in the future, it would be prudent to do some research on any product you're buying.

Mine looked wayyyyyy better than that. No pics unfortunately. Installed about 2 months ago. She's still going strong with no issues.

This looks typical of VRSF quality. Tons of info on this board pointing to bad fitment and quality issues.

You didnt listen.

I will be returning it. Thanks for the feedback guys. It was my fault....I was being cheap thinking I’d be happy. After seeing this...gonna just spend the extra cash for a better quality charge pipe.

Mine looked better on the outside, the inside was like yours.

However, the OEM charge pipe had even more ripples on the inside, minor welds on the inside are negligible.

My VRSF DP and CP work perfectly fine... BUT in the future I 100% agree... I wont be buying bottom of the barrel products... it's worth spending a couple hundred and getting something you're very satisfied with.

y'allz just missed their tax season sale, 186.99 shipped. at 219.99 it's still a great deal and product. inexpensive doesn't have to equal poor qc, fit and finish.

My apologies if this sounds offensive. It seems like you have been promoting their products. I am sure they make quality products, but you seem to root for them every time someone looks for intake/exhaust related products during the past weeks.Sorry, no mean to be a jerk

Some people take pride on looks AND function.

Then there are those that do not care.

I helped a friend install a VRSF charge pipe today and, as expected, there were small issues.

The main one was that the port for the vacuum to plug into was crushed a bit. It looks like the piece was either dropped or someone was holding it down and exerting force on it during construction. Since the port had collapsed inward a bit we couldn't plug the vacuum line into it (ID wasn't large enough). Since it's really soft metal though, we were able to bend it out by just putting some pliers into the port and opening them outwards into the collapsed section.

Additionally, my friend was was confused on how to do the install at first because some pieces were included in the package that weren't for his charge pipe. In addition to the proper silicone coupler and appropriately sized T-bolt clamps were an additional silicone coupler that was much too small for this pipe, and T-bolt clamps for that.

Little things like that tell me whoever constructed this pipe and packed it wasn't paying very close attention.

So get this....top gear solutions wants to charge me 20% restock fee to return it even though I told them and showed them the quality issues. According to them, there is nothing wrong with the pipes and should function as normal. They don’t really care how their product looks like that they sell.

Now I am working with Tiago at VRSF to try to get an exchange since I won’t be getting a refund. Needless to say, I won’t be ordering from Top gear soluctions ever again if thats how they like to treat their customers.

I noticed that the T-bolts that came in the box has some issues also. The nuts on the bolts do not screw down all the way. There is a self-locking mechanism on the nut threads that prevent it from going down all the way to tighten. Something tells me they sent the wrong nuts.

How long did it take you guys to install? Any other helpful hints or tricks you can share?

I'm confused.

If VRSF Dealer says nothing is wrong with your VRSF parts, wouldn't that indicate that your pics are typical of what to expect from VRSF. Certainly a VRSF Dealer would be in the best position to know.

I'd just call my bank and have them sort it out with a Chargeback to TGS if I was sold something that didn't look as pictured and advertised.

I think I am seeing this problem as well on the intercooler side, I feel like the 2.5" T clamp cannot fully secure the pipe. I am assuming we clamp the flat part rather than the ridge part?

Its precisely the reason why I wanted to return it completly and stay away from VRSF if this is what is expected and dealers don’t recognize it as a problem.

At least Tiago is willing to send me another one to see if thats a better quality one.

Yeah the clamp should go on the flat part. It should be kept away from the edge of the silicone coupler.

Here is my thread looks like they increased quality a bit more since they mad mine. Ditch the tbolt clamps get high quality worm gear clamps.
