Experience with ECS scratch and dent items?

Considering my 325i is now 13 years old, I really don't want to spend a whole much on it. That being said there is a reasonably priced cup kit at ECS for around $599. From the pictures, I don't see any significant damage. Knowing that all sales are final for these kind of items, have you had any experience on similar scratch and dented items from the said vendor? Thanks in advance.

Never done it before, but I've noticed them offering this option recently. IMO I'd go for it, especially if it's cosmetic only.

Thanks for your reply. For now, I have emailed their customer service to confirm that the damages are mainly cosmetic only as the pictures do not show the flaws. Still a $600 dollar item and just wanted to make sure

Would they still retain Bilstein's warranty?

Will do but I believe they have limited supply on these. May be gone now.

They are, but they have actually a couple cup kits in scratch n dent for the e91 right now.

The kit that you got, is it B12's and H&R or eibach springs?

After several emails and even chat correspondences, they could not confirm what the "flaw" is other than "as seen on the pictures".

Now that I have purchased it and it has shipped out, I was told that there is a dent om the lower spring perch on the front strut. Go figure lol.

Hopefully this won't be a problem or something that would clunk. For those who have a billstein, can I bend the metal to correct this flaw with pliers?

I think this should not be a problem, and will be cosmetic only. If I can remember my last set that I had on my e46, I might have even bent the perch myself after opening them and then them sitting and getting moved around the garage

Cool. Thank you for letting me know. Did you try to bend it back to its place?

It's ECS, so assuming your items were packed well with to survive shipping, and that the carrier didn't play football with it, you still have a 50/50 chance of getting the wrong part to begin with.

Good luck, sounds like you need it.

It was a e46 330i ZHP, so it was already pretty good, it was just worn out at 189K. I put B12's with H&R Springs. It was great after that but I ended up not hanging on to it much longer. If I were doing it over I would go full coil-over because it ended up being mostly a track car that got driven on the street occasionally.

I have a e91 that has the base suspension, its a DD so I think coil-overs are too aggressive here... I want something more similar to the m sport.

Thanks for sharing. How did it feel comfort-wise compared to a sport or non-sport factory suspension? I've been reading mixed opinions here.

Will do. I have some mounting hardware on order from FCP as well. This is my first Suspension DIY job but as long as I have the correct tools, I think I will be OK.

Can you guys confirm that the only out of norm open wrenches I need is 18mm and 21mm? Out of norm because I don't have these in my tool set
