stolen keys
hey guys my house got broken into last night and the stole a lot of things including my bmw fob... I had the second one in a different location which they never grabbed... I can get a replacement on sleezebay for under 100.00 but how due I code out the stolen key???? and how due I program the new key once I get it. Please advise.

You're most likely going to have to take it to your dealership to have them do that. They're going to have to change the coding for the car and the remote... and you can't do that easily.

Hi,
I believe you'll have to claim off your house/contents/car insurance to get a new FOB from BMW. I don't believe you can code a used FOB to your car. This is a BMW security measure, I think they allocate 7 FOBs to every BMW and the first 2 are taken up with the FOBs you received with your car. I know this as one of my wife's 320i FOBs was lost by our adorable daughter who dropped it and lost at the beach, probably in the sea water. Cheerz Quote:
