What should I replace on my e91?
Hello, I have a 2007 328xi e91 6 speed with about 119500 miles. What Things should I be replacing? I bought it with 108k the water pump and spark plugs were done by the previous owner. I replaced the serp belt and all the pulleys including the alternator one. brakes all around with akebono pads and Zimmerman rotors. I replaced the lateral front control arm bushings as well. Those pretty big ones that thud when they go bad when you step on the brakes or hit bumps.
The oil pan is leaking, that’s the only oil leak that I know of and can see. I plan to do it my self when I feel like taking a day. I do all the work my self and have been replacing the oil every 5k with liqui moly 5w30 and Mann filters. I have replaced the air filter as well. What am I missing ?? What things should I just replace given it’s current mileage? Thanks guys! Sorry if my grammar is scuffed. |

Have you done all the fluids.
https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/at...9&d=1539905743 You can look at the Mike Miller schedule. He practices airplane maintenance. He would probably suggest rebuilding the coolant system. I think that is little extreme though. There is a a link to the Mike Miller schedule in the above link you could also google it. Last edited by ctuna; 01-29-2019 at 08:29 PM.. |

I'd replace all the fluids.
diffs often get overlooked. and I'd drive it until something broke. if the oil pan leaked less than a quart between oil changes I'd ignore it. oh wait, I'm ignoring my oil pan gasket.... |

Nothing. You covered everything, but if you want to be safe I'd throw in transmission fluid change and differential fluid change (assuming the XI had a transfer case with separate fluid? change that too). It *might* not be necessary for that, but with any used car it's good to have a baseline so you know for sure when those things were last changed. Other than that, you're good to go. Don't fix what's not broken. |

The transfer cases are more critical for oil than the any other fluid, but they’re all due @100k miles. I’d just do that and if you feel you must spend the money look for upgrades.
There isn’t a whole lot that breaks on these cars. Enjoy it! |
