BMW Connected

This has to be the worst app form a car manufacturer I have had, the functionality is extremely limited. The fact that you can't initiate an auto update of the vehicle status is ludicrous. I just called connected support because I couldn't unlock the doors and they are telling me the app is down and they have no idea when it will be up and running.

The app for my Aston Martin is better that this and they don't even have one for my car.

Thank god the car itself is so freaking awesomeness!!!!

I’ve had no issues with the app and the functionality it provides and while it is a bit of a novelty I love the ability to see in 3D where valet parks my car.

It doesn't work for me, I can see around the car from a week ago. I called support and they say that the app has been down for 2 weeks and don't know when it will be fixed

Same here doesn't work and camera functionality is out and I have used it before and it worked just fine a week ago!!!

+1 hasn't worked in weeks

The Tesla App was MUCH more responsive i used it all the time.

Not working for me either.. it sucks.. no smart key.. no engine start for winter. Totally useless!! My daughters Subaru has more options for 25k!!

I can't get the app to send a pin code to the car. Did you all need to do something special to get it "connect"-ed?

Actually I am glad to read this. I have been snooping at the progress of my car repair with the app and the last connection I got was last week. I was thinking they reset my car or something since I could not get any images over the weekend. Now this makes more sense. LOL......

I use the old school app: my eyes on the car when I walk up to it. Cause I have the same issues almost every one else has had here.

You stepped on a nerve here. The car has the system in place, hard driers are CHEAP AS DIRT, and BMW engineers could have set it up so you could add (buy at the dealer the 'box for $$$) a recorder that could be set to image at some interval. But no......we can't access the camera feeds.

For example just about every BMW has that front camera in the windshield. What would it cost to have a feed that the driver could tap into? an Nano Penny per car?

Server down now day 6. WTF? I thought this was touted as a "safety" feature so you could check the surroundings of your car before approaching at night, etc, so if someone gets mugged while this "Service" is down, would BMW be liable! (doubt it LOL).

I had this problem when I received my car.

Once you are in the Connected Drive main screen of your car, click on the "Options" button of the center console controller and there will be an a line there to choose to transmit data or something similar.

Your car should now start to communicate. Once I've done that I suddenly received about 20 PIN message from all my previous requests.

But, if the Connected central server is down, nothing to be done until it comes back up I guess.

It has nothing to do with setting up your car, the app has been down for over a week and they have no idea when they will be able to fix it
