Hi
I have a 2011 E90 with CIC pro and AUX IN showing up in the menu. However nothing happens when I plug a 3.5mm jack in. I have the menu in CIC and can turn up and down the volume. I have checked the connections, and they seams OK. I think is has something to do with coding. The CIC is not the original one because the coded VIN is different, and the CIC screen was loose when i got the car. However the car have the CIC pro from factory. I think that the previous owner broke it, replaced it, and coded it 90%. :-) Can anyone help me check that the coding i OK in the CIC. I have all the software needed and can code a bit myself. Please help :-) Last edited by MrNice2028; 01-04-2019 at 03:54 PM.. |

Another thing is that I have never bin able to Read ECU from CAS, only from NFRM. - That is strange to i think. Do you know anyone that can help me code the CIC, change the VIN and get the AUX to work? - I will be happy to pay for it. I just installed the new Android 8.1 system, and it need AUX. I have newer used the AUX before and don't know if it ever worked. To night I enabled the original system again to check the AUX. I checked the wires from the back og the head unit to the AUX in. I change the AUX cable. Nothing works, that is why I am 99.9% sure that it needs coding. UPDATE: I just tryed again and using another profile I can read from CAS. Stil can't read out CIC trace file. See error in attached file. UPDATE: Well I got the CIC trace file out. Can be downloaded here: https://ufile.io/0vdmq Can anyone spot a reason why the AUX IN is not working? Can it be a much more simple thing like a fuse or a bad connector? Any idears are welcome. Well it is late in Denmark. I will pick this up in the morning. Thank you Sensible_ for the progress so far. How do you expect to code the CIC if you can't read a trace file from it?
I'll code it for you, but it's very simple. The error you posted is sometimes indicative of wrong serial port settings. Can you confirm in the serial port settings that Latency is set to '1'. |

Just testet again, and your are right. The latency had set it self to default. Now I can read out the CIC. Here is the trace file from CIC. Can you spot anything relayted to AUX not working. https://ufile.io/0vdmq |

I see in that trace file you have COMBOX aktiv. Does your car have a combox (Bluetooth streaming etc) if not, then it's not coded properly. Code the CIC to default with an expert mode or factory profile (no manipulation) using the job SG_CODERIEN. |

Only the AUX IN that does not work. Checked all the wires again to day, and tryed another AUX cable, but no sound. The menu is there and I can ajust the AUX volumen, but no input. :-( Last edited by MrNice2028; 01-04-2019 at 12:51 AM.. |

you have either wire aux from combox or recode headunit using custom parameter(select aux from headunit and not combox)

Do you know how and what modul to code the AUX from COMBOX to Headunit? The wires from the org AUX runs directly to the headunit and connect to the right pins, as far as I can see. |

The car is now coded for the combox to supply the aux so now you need a aux cable that runs from the combox . Above is a schematic of the combox. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/ May not be away to code it back and run with the upgraded setup. Actually I thought in most cars the aux always came from the TCU/MULF or combox. I have seen the cables on ebay for 10 to 30 bucks US. Last edited by ctuna; 01-04-2019 at 02:09 AM.. |

Do you know if I can just remove $6FL from FA and kode MEDIA and CIC, just to test? Or maby you can provide an eBay link for the cable/connector. - Don't know what I am looking for. :-) Se pictures of COMBOX and 6FL retrofit. Last edited by MrNice2028; 01-04-2019 at 03:27 AM.. |

What cable did you use when you retrofitted 6FL?
Did you use the Y cable? You could try setting: CDMM_AUX_HU to 'aktiv' but the correct way as stated is to just extend the aux cable to the combox. Also, there is a function key word CDMM_USB_AUDIO_DOUBLE which is qualified for: COMBOX+USB+HANDYMP3,KOMFORT_TEL maybe setting it to aktiv enables both aux... I have no idea though. |

Do you think that I can remove the 6FL option again and it will fallback to original, with the original AUX working? If you know which cable I can use from AUX IN adapter to the COMBOX, that would be the best solution. Last edited by MrNice2028; 01-04-2019 at 06:35 AM.. |

Ok so this is making a bit more sense now. From those photos you have the USB and Aux which would normally be run to the centre console armrest still in your trunk. WiFi plugged into USB. Correct?
In which case your AUX is already attached to the combox??? Via the AUX L and R but I don't see any wires from this AUX? To the combox system connector... So I guess you still have an AUX in the armrest connected to CIC? In which case, I'd try removing the 6FL and recoding CIC and MEDIA. Or, run AUX connections from the combox connector to the aux in your arm rest. |

I will try recode the MEDIA and CIC without 6FL, just for the test. If it works, I can code 6FL back and do the wirering to the COMBOX. I will test in 5 hours (The wife stole the car), and get back to you. Thank, talk to you later. Last edited by MrNice2028; 01-04-2019 at 03:36 PM.. |

Since you can play music from 6fl I would want to have it.
The aux has been noted as a low fi Input in many threads here and I can say I have had the same direct observation . Last edited by ctuna; 01-05-2019 at 08:52 AM.. |

I think I will activate the USB again and rewire the AUX IN to the COMBOX, just to have it. But there is actually no point now that I have the Android system (it has 2x USB and a 32GB memory card). If there is any indication of quality los over the AUX to the headunit, it will be done at ones.

An android unit that uses the aux will have the same sound
quality loss I believe. There have been some large discussions on the stereo sub forum about this. |
