Dimples on door frame

I noticed this a few days ago.
Anyone know if these ¨finger dimples" serve a purpose?

Maybe the robot squeezed to hard placing the panel in the welder.

Actually have no idea but a WAG is they are part of the build process or a stiffener for the section.

Be interested to find out.

At a guess I'd say to add strength to the door at that point.

I'd guess that they're the spots where the top side impact beams are welded to the door frame. There are two beams, one on top, and one diagonal beam.

An engineer lost his fingers during production, so to commemorate the engineering, they incorporate the design in the frame.
