Anyone have this steering cover? (Stitching)
there is 2 different kinds but does any of you have something like this? if so, does it effect the heated steering wheel feature? does it take longer to warm up or it's not that warm as before?

They look really nice but the final result is most probably directly proportional to the buyer's sewing skills. So in my case it will look ass.

I wonder if they have received warnings from BMW IP lawyers?

If you removed the original OEM covering & replaced it with these the heat rate/output would be the same
If you add this cover on top of your factory covering it would definitely take longer to heat + would prolly not look good with so many layers and stitching on top of stitching Version with Alcantara sections may not hold up under heating function - there is a reason BMW does not have heating function available on ANY of it's wheels with Alcantara - I'm guessing alcantara + heat = don't play well

Coby will do whatever kind of alcantara wrap you want - professional job for ~$200 if memory serves. More than DIY but no chance of getting annoyed or doing a shit job and wasting the money.

If you do it won't fit, being sized to go over the original covering. It warns against that in the instructions, and when you put one on you can see why. I found it necessary to remove the original covering in the wells that the switches fit into, but otherwise left the original cover untouched.

If it helps at all, I did get a Coby alcantara wheel earlier this year, and now that the weather has cooled down, I can say that the heating function is definitely retained (and quite effective). I have been very happy with the material and stitching quality, and I feel confident that it was worth the price premium over a DIY option.
