what do you guys think of this Rare 4 Series?
Hi guys, I am tempted to get this BMW by this weekend and I am worried about just one thing. It is the service history and if it was done specifically by BMW. Otherwise the carfax is clean nothing to worry about there. I could really use experienced advice here about this one if you can. Much appreciated !

Man that car is loaded but it really depends on your preferance. Convertible is heavier than non convertible. 38k for a 30k mile 2015 car. I dont think its that good of a deal tbh. IK6SPEED just sold a 12 piece carbon interior trim set for 1000$. MMPK is ok but BM3 is much better or a jb4 both which are 500$ each. M Brakes are good but can buy brand new for 1.4k-1.6k. 437M oems if those are oems and not reps on the car are another 1600$ ish dollars for the set. I think its a little too expensive tbh. I bought my 2014 335i with 40kish miles for 26k and it came with OEM 437m's eibach springs, full carbon exterior trim etc. I think the deal is okish but nothing spectacular. You can buy a 2015 M3 for like 40-45k. I would rather just buy a M3 instead of paying close to 40k for a 4 series thats about to be 4 years old in a few days lol.

This deal could be better; not very competitive. The car will be sold based on emotion: red interior, M3 wheels, red calipers, convertible... San Diego ... Pacific Coast Highway.

That car has very little warranty left if anything at all and it's not a CPO car. So you should probably get a bit knocked off that price. IF you need all those parts, it's not a bad deal if you can bargain a bit. If you don't need them (especially those CF trim pieces), I'd just look for a lower mileage M Sport car with the blue brakes and install whichever parts you want yourself. You can get a better deal and maybe a 2016 CPO car that way.
Also, I wouldn't call this car rare. Everything done to this car is with dealer-installed options. It's just an automatic transmission 435i convertible. Wheels, MPPK, CF trim, brakes, are all possible on any BMW F3x car. |

Don't buy the "rare" thing. Price a offer as you would any other similar aged 4 series.

appreciate everybody advice in here. I feel it is a bit too expensive. I would get extended warranty on it after the 50k is up. Its the Red calipers/Red interior/Hard Top conv
these three options is why i'm dying to get it. I have seen a 430i that is a coupe with red interior. How much would it cost to get those red calipers? I am not a big fan of the rims I would rather go with classic rims than those. What would you guys do once you know the carfax is clean? I was thinking to call the BMW dealer nearest to them and give them the VIN number to see if they can search up the service history on this car and make sure its all done by a bmw dealer. I Would take the car at 35k |

I was advised ( could be wrong advice) that inline v6 is more reliable for a bmw. Maybe I should just be patient and keep looking for a Red interior/Red caliper/Hard top convertible such as this but I dont know I feel this one is calling me lol. I can easily afford it but I dont like the 37k price tag. I would prefer 35 but the seller said it is already at a discounted price which is BS to me lol |

How did you go about checking the service history on the car and if it was done by BMW dealers only? I wont get this car if the service wasnt done by BMW. I hope these guys arent selling me a car that will be a black hole later thats my only fear. otherwise I will hustle day and night to pay off the extra I am paying for it. |

Here's one with the right color: BMW 435i Convertible - Autotrader Quote:
I think you could realistically get it to $35k, but I'm not sure what the market is like. It also depends on if the dealer wants to get rid of the car or not. |

Well - you can always make an offer that you can live with.
BTW, red calipers are very easy to obtain and install. These appear to be OEM M Performance brakes sold as an accessory by BMW. If you want the best brakes money can buy, other options are available at a higher price: Brembo, AP Racing Rado-CAL with 6 pistons in the front and 4 pistons in the rear. |

If it was serviced at a BMW service center then it will be on the carfax... all maintenance should of been done on it...if not make sure there is still some factory warranty and get it done (brakes etc...)... but as others have said it's not a biggy deal on the car the way it is set up.......

However they WOULD be in the BMW Database available at a Dealer. If they will share with you considering it’s not your car, that’s a different question. Worse case scenario, take it by the Dealership and ask for service history on test drive. “If this car really went with it or not” Last edited by IK6SPEED; 12-27-2018 at 01:30 PM.. |
