B47 proven reliable?
Not been able to find much on it besides the odd EGR issue, looking at a 2017 (67 plate) for a potential long term keeper. I've seen quite a few examples of cars with the B47 doing over 150K miles which is an impressive amount in 4 years.
I'd gather by this stage most of the issues are sorted, still any feedback welcome. |

It's the updated 2015 onwards 2.0L diesel engine, I'd gather it's mainly used in Europe. |

Xdrive models share the transfer case with 320i, and it's kinda weak for all that diesel torque. Some people experienced its malfunction at mileage of 60-100kkm. Some of them were very enthusiastic about skids and donuts on ice and snow, though
The engine itself seems to be quite reliable, I haven't heard about any specific issues whatsoever. But our specification is Euro-5, so it is possible it's a bit simpler in terms of ecology-related stuff in comparison to engines you have in Europe. |
